Stile Field Wild Flowers

Jun 19, 2014 | News

The rain and now this wonderful sunshine has really brought on the wild flowers which have been planted in Stile Field by the Town Council’s Maintenance Team.  Pictures have recently been taken by Brian Love for you all to enjoy.  We hope that very soon poppies will begin to flower in front of our War Memorial adding another splash of colour.

Do you have a list of the species you have sown in Stile Field? Some are easy to identify but others not.

    Many thanks

Yes of course, the flowers in Stile Field together with their Latin names are:

      Tickseed (Coreopis Tinctotia)
      Fairy Toadflax (Linaria Maroccana)
      Field Poppy (Papaver Rhoeas)
      Cornflower (Centaurea Cyanus)
      Californian Poppy (Eschsholzia Californica)
      Corn Marigold (Chrysanthemum Segetum)
