Merger with Devon was bad enough – merging with Dorset as well is an even worse idea. There are already too few police personnel in Cornwall and far too few police stations. Promises of more resources this side of the Tamar will not be kept – as usual resources will go to the better-off areas. As the Dorset precept is higher they will say that they deserve more in return. Devon has the 2 big conurbations of Exeter and Plymouth which will plead the need for more resources. Cornwall will, as ever, end up the poor relation.
