The Town Council have been made aware of a scam involving QR codes being attached to tariff boards or ticket machines in some car parks across the county, encouraging drivers to scan the QR code to pay for parking. Scammers may also attach fake QR codes over real QR codes, redirecting drivers to fake websites and apps.
Please note that Padstow Town Council DO NOT use QR codes in either of our car parks (Railway and Lawns). Payment can be made in these car parks using cash, card or by using the RingGo App. The Town Council will not ask you to download the RingGo app using a QR code – you can download the RingGo app for free through your app store.
If you think that you may have used a scam QR code, you may wish to contact your banking provider as soon as possible.
