It is disheartening to hear that some of the trees planted this week were vandalised. These tree whips were replacement trees, as recommended from our annual tree inspection following removal of dead or diseases trees.
The Council maintain this outside woodland environment for everyone’s benefit, now and in the future.
We hope trees planted this week will flourish and become part of the landscape for years to come, with locations chosen to help give them the best chance of survival.
NB: The Council undertakes annual tree inspections, which may provide recommendations include removal of dead or diseases trees, or highlight some pruning works. As the area is protected, being part of the Conservation Area and included in the 1969 Woodland Tree Preservation Order, works to remove or prune must be applied for via Cornwall Council.
