Two Padstow Ward vacancies on Padstow Town Council exists.  Applications are invited, provided you meet the relevant criteria, to fill this vacancy via co-option.

Applicants must complete this Application Form  setting out in detail their knowledge, ability and reasons for seeking to fill the vacancy which must be returned no later than 4.00pm on Friday 25 September 2026.  An application pack can also be obtained from the Council Offices by calling 01841 532296 to request a copy by post.

Applications for this position will be considered by the Council on 29 September 2026.

Do I Qualify?

If you are interested in becoming a Parish or Town Councillor you will need to meet the criteria below. A candidate for a Parish or Town Council is qualified if, when nominated:

  • he or she is a British citizen, Commonwealth citizen, citizen of the Irish Republic or a citizen of another European Union State.
  • has attained 18 years of age, and
  • is either:
  • in the register of electors for that Parish/Town or has during the whole of the preceding twelve months occupied land as owner or tenant
  • had a principal place of work there
  • resided in or within 4.8 kilometres (3 miles) of it.

Under Section 80 of the Local Government Act 1972 a person is disqualified from being elected as a Local Councillor or being a member of a Local Council if specific criteria are not met.
