Railway Bus Stop Update – 7.3.25

Mar 7, 2025 | News

Padstow Town Council has extended the desist of the current bus stop on the Railway Car Park until the end of February 2026 for the 11 and 56 buses.  This is to allow the time to work up options and for any works to take place during the quieter months.

Since October 2024, Padstow Town Council, Cornwall Council and Go Cornwall have had various discussions, including site visits.  A further meeting is scheduled for later this month.  These meetings have been an opportunity for each party to clarify their position, put forward their views and explore ideas in order to develop realistic options to provide a bus stop in the Railway Car park which preserves the service buses 11 and 56.

The Chair of the Council commented “We want our community to be assured by the extension of this desist to next year, that the Town Council is keen to work up a realistic and safer bus stop for the 11 and 56 service buses.  The Railway Car Park supports other activities, all of which need to factor into any improvements that are made.” He added “Whilst Padstow Town Council aren’t responsible for bus services or the bus infrastructure, as a small Town Council we want to do what we can to support our community and remain committed to working collaboratively with Cornwall Council and Go Cornwall to progress a mutually agreeable way forward in respect of a Railway Car Park bus stop.”

Further updates/information will be posted as things develop.
