War Memorial Restoration Works

Sep 18, 2014 | News

After consultation with the War Memorials Trust, the Council have arranged for restoration works to be carried out on the War Memorial at Stile Field.  This will commence on Monday 22nd September and is expected to last approx. 1 week (weather dependant). Works will include steam cleaning the memorial, repointing the stonework and repainting the lettering.

The Council have enlisted the services of McNeilage Conservation to carry out the work.   McNeilage Conservation are award winning conservators who have previously carried out work for clients such as The National Trust and English Heritage.

Following the restoration of the War Memorial the Council are looking to hold a small rededication service and hope to provide an update on this over the coming weeks.
