First Kernow is making many improvements to its timetables for Cornwall from Sunday 24 May.
These changes are to reflect the level of services needed to meet the demands of the hundreds of thousands of visitors
expected in Cornwall during the summer months, together with improvements for residents who are regular bus users.
Among the changes will be an expansion of the routes serving Newquay, which will include the introduction of four new
services connecting the town with Truro and St Ives as well as local holiday parks.
Established routes will revert back to the same summer timetables as last year while other services will call at Cornwall
tourist attractions. There will also be measures to cope with the pressures caused by traffic congestion along certain routes to
ensure that services run punctually to the timetables.
Commenting on the revisions, Alex Carter, Managing Director of First Kernow said: “This continues to be an exciting time
for us especially now that we have introduced additional routes previously operated by Western Greyhound.
“We are totally committed to providing reliable bus services this summer for residents and visitors alike.
New timetables will be available from First travel shops and other outlets from 18 May or can be downloaded from the
website now: http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/devon_cornwall/.
