Beware council tax scam

Mar 16, 2016 | News

Advice received today from the Cornwall Association of Local Councils (CALC) is that a company is phoning local individuals claiming to be able to rerate your property to achieve reductions in council tax and tax banding. They require your credit card and £65 payment up front. CALC has checked this with Cornwall Council and Trading Standards and have confirmed that this is a scam.

Should you have any concerns about this please contact Cornwall Council Trading Standards on 0300 1234 191
