Cemetery Camping Overnight Issue

Aug 17, 2016 | News

Unfortunately we have noticed that people are camping overnight in their vans in our cemetery car park.  We really don’t think this is appropriate.  The cemetery is an area for people to visit their loved ones and reflect.

To clarify the position we have today put up temporary signage – advising that the area is not for overnight parking or camping.  permanent signage is on order.  Therefore, can you please respect this position.  Anyone, visiting Padstow and looking to find somewhere to camp there are various campsites in the local area.  To find out more please contact the local Tourist Information Centre: www.padstowlive.com or 01841 533 449

Another step we are taking is to close off the cemetery car park from 6 pm each evening until 8 – 8.30 am.  We have supplies on order to do this and will put this in place in the next few days.  We will ensure that there is still pedestrian access during these times.  We hope that this will be a temporary measure and that once people realise this isn’t a place to camp they will respect this and not do this again.  We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause when visiting our cemetery.  We really hope this will be temporary.

We will keep you updated on this matter.  Any concerns of course, please do let us know.
