Skate Park Update (Lawns, Padstow)

Nov 7, 2018 | News

Update: 07.11.18

The contractor who is set to undertake construction of our new skate park has unfortunately had to delay the start date due to a delay on a current project.

We anticipate the works to begin 26 November 2018 but are still seeking confirmation.

Updated: 07.09.18 – Initial Works to Start Next Week!

You will know that the Town Council has been taking forward the State Park Project.  At our Annual Town Meeting in May, we informed our community that conditional planning permission was given.

One of these conditions was pre-commencement and we are pleased to advise that this was lifted earlier this year, we were then able to begin to schedule in and plan these works.

Initial works start on Monday (10 September), with the removal of trees in preparing the site.

Please note timetable below outlining commencement of key tasks:
w/c 10 September          Tree surgeons on site to remove trees;
w/c 24 September          Play equipment removal and site clearance;
w/c 15 October               Bendcrete expected on site to set up and commence works (weather dependent). Works expected to take 8 weeks.

This has been a long project to get to the stage where we will now finally commence these works. Please do bear with us during this time.   We very much look forward to the opening of this new skate facility in our town.
