Padstow Town Council is delighted to award £25,000 in Grants for 2019-20.The Council consider applications from community and charitable organisations, which are not for profit and will bring benefit to the local community.

The Council invited all the grant recipients to its office at Station House, so that the Chairman of the Council, Councillor Richard Higman, could thank the local organisations for their work for the community.

Some of the grants recipients’ comments:

Debbie Henshaw, Fundraising Manager for Cornwall Air Ambulance: ‘As a charity, Cornwall Air Ambulance relies on the support of the public and local organisations to fly each year.  It’s a vital service in Cornwall, as no one knows who might need it next.  The charity is in the middle of a fundraising campaign for a faster, more powerful helicopter for the county and we are delighted to receive a grant of £1000 from Padstow Town Council towards the New Heli Appeal.’

Tim Bishop, Treasurer, from St Petroc’s Church: ‘Being a registered charity it is always difficult raising money for capital projects and Padstow Town Council grant is invaluable for helping purchase equipment for the Church.  The grant is being used to purchase chairs for the new Church rooms.’

Clive Walley, Treasurer for Trevone Village Hall: ‘We are looking for £40,000 in grants to replace the back of Trevone Village Hall.  We have spent £4400 on pre-work and the £5000 grant from Padstow Town Council is helping pay for that. Many local organisations use Trevone Village Hall and we don’t charge local charities.  It is a well-used facility.’
